1:1 Online Learning

Online sessions are available if you prefer this format to traditional face to face sessions, using the excellent Zoom video platform. I use a range of high quality online interactive teaching materials, ensuring that all key skills are addressed. Many students prefer this format for the added convenience of joining from their own home at the click of a button and the interactive possibilities this technology allows. Students typically choose between 30/45/60 minute sessions.

Online Group Courses

Do you enjoy interacting in a class with other students? Some people prefer a group dynamic without an intensive 1-1 focus and being able to discuss with more people. The group class format via Zoom has become a very popular method of learning in recent times, requiring very little technical know-how and just a computer with a camera and microphone. I offer Beginner/Improver/Advanced levels for French and Spanish in small groups.

Adult Learning

Would you like to do more than just 'get by' with the local language on your travels? Or better integrate into the native community of your place abroad?

Often adults want to learn in a very different style to younger students, wanting to know the WHY as well as the WHAT, favouring a more structured delivery style, whilst the lessons, of course, should remain fun and engaging.

I have15 years' experience in teaching adults and I include content tailored to their interests whether cultural, social, historical or geographical. Without shying away from grammar and essential speaking practice, I ensure my adult learners actively produce the target language as well as understand it sooner than they expected.

GCSE / A Level Exam Prep

I have helped many teeangers achieve better than expected grades in their exams. I am well versed in the current GCSE and A-Level syllabus and exam requirements. Patient and motivating in my teaching style, I understand the huge pressure of these exams and I help students progress with confidence and the right knowledge to obtain the best grades possible.

After the disruption to schooling caused by the Pandemic, many students at this age could benefit from extra 1:1 support to ensure they get the grades they deserve. I would be very happy to support more young people.

Young Learners

It's a great idea to start learning a language from a young age as children have a high language acquisition ability, picking up words quickly and easily. They also tend to be less afraid of making mistakes than older students. I have worked with many young learners in various language schools, teaching in a way that is fun, creative and effective. DBS checked and with great reviews, I take on students as young as 6 years old. I offer 30 minutes 'bite-sized', as well as 45/60mins sessions. I can help open your child's eyes to a new world with the discovery of a new language and they will have a lot of fun along the way!

For Business

Does your company trade abroad and would you benefit from having a working knowledge of French/Spanish? A better knowledge of these languages could open doors for you and help your career.

I provide 1:1 or group French/Spanish sessions tailored to business employees across all sectors. Sessions are offered in person, online, by phone or a combination of methods. I am happy to work with HR professionals to devise courses to meet employees' specific needs.

Learning Through Creativity

Do you enjoy art, music or cooking? Why not learn French or Spanish whilst practising one of your creative interests?

This kind of 'immersion learning' motivates a lot of students and it's a fun, hands-on way of learning, as if you were indeed living in a French/Spanish speaking country. Available 1:1 or in a group situation.

English as a Foreign Language

I am a TEFL qualified English teacher. After training in various schools in Mexico and Geneva and online with a major Chinese language school, I teach students in the UK and abroad online. I have an in-depth knowledge of the technical complexities of English and provide clear instruction, teaching in a dynamic, engaging way.

I also offer a high quality proof reading service, from full reconstructive writing, to correcting errors or polishing, making writing more natural in its tone and flow.

Translation

As a Cambridge University Languages Degree graduate, with a 2:1 in French and Spanish, including specialist Translation Studies, and an Affiliate Member of the Institute of Translating and Interpreting, I provide highly proficient translations of Spanish/French into my native English in a range of writing styles and various contexts. With a 14 year career in brand management, I specialise in translations for business, marketing, leisure, hospitality and tourism. I provide professional and affordable work.
